Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love, and flowers are physical symbols of that love. It is a day of giving and receiving, a day of thoughtfulness and beauty. But for many Valentine’s Day is just another day. Nearly half a million seniors living in assisted care communities are single on Valentine’s Day. Many of them will not be receiving any Valentines. We want to change that. By teaming up with 1-800-Flowers we will bring flowers on Valentine’s Day to seniors in assisted living facilities. Flower purchasers have the option of donating a few of their flowers to a bouquet for a senior - once the bouquet is filled it will be sent to a senior. Valentine’s Day is about human connection though - flowers are just a medium. The flowers will be hand delivered, and the delivery person will Facebook Live the event. Through email and social we will connect flower donators to the seniors receiving those flowers, creating a real human connection.
